Our agency leader, mentor, motivator and CEO; Jim has over 30 years of experience in advertising and marketing, specializing in account service, market research and strategic planning. He founded the Dalton Agency in 1989, and has led it from ambitious start-up to over $75 million in capitalized billings. Jim has helped direct and craft award-winning advertising and promotional campaigns for companies and organizations in various industries, including retail, sports, law enforcement, education, real estate, travel and tourism, automotive, information technology, product manufacturing, and entertainment. His leadership, vision and management was integral to Dalton being named Advertising Age's Small Agency of the Year.
An active member of the community, Jim currently serves on the board of directors for Hubbard House and the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. He also is a past president of the North American Alliance of the Advertising and Marketing International Network (AMIN), an alliance of independently owned advertising agencies that spans the globe, with member networks in North America, Europe and Asia. Jim is a graduate of Jacksonville University.
A sought-after figure in the Public Relations and Crisis Communications field, Michael brings more than 30-years’ experience to the Dalton Agency, focusing on corporate strategy, business development, government relations, political consulting and corporate communications. He successfully advises clients and manages projects achieving results for a variety of regional, national and international clients. As a principal partner and president of the PR and Social Media Group, Michael has in depth experience in a variety of sectors including: real estate, consumer marketing transportations and logistics, politics, manufacturing and distribution, development, travel and tourism, healthcare, insurance and banking, law firms, HR/IT, crisis communications, sports marketing and early stage start-ups.
As a business leader and proponent of community service, Michael has been active in a number of corporate boards, civic and political organizations. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Iberia Bank; is a Trustee for the Cummer Museum; is a board member of the First Coast American Heart Association; and, is a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council.
Pat was the third employee hired at Dalton over 25 years ago and he hasn't looked back since. Now a partner and chief creative officer, Pat oversees the agency's overall creative product as well providing the creative vision and strategy for the agency. Not afraid to get his hands dirty, Pat leads by example, inspiring and directing his team of art directors, copywriters, designers and video editors to do the best possible work consistently. Lauded for his creative spirit, client collaboration skills and 80s dance moves, Pat has done award-winning work in all mediums and in every possible market category: including sports and entertainment, consumer package goods, retail, automotive, law enforcement and defense, and even music videos. Pat truly believes the best campaign is the campaign that brings results for his client.
Pat has lent his talents to numerous non-profits, as well as heading up Dalton Cares initiative which provides creative and account support for worthy local charities and causes.
Joining the Dalton Team in 2013, Bill brings a wealth of senior management and leadership experience to the Dalton Agency. With over 30 years of domestic and global experience working with a broad range of Fortune 500 clients, Bill brings big agency and big brand experience to Dalton. Bill manages operations in our three main offices, spearheads business development, manages client oversight, and inspires all who work with him. Prior to Dalton, Bill was President and Partner, at Kruskopf Coontz Advertising. In this role, he helped to strengthen brands for 3M, Optum Health, UnitedHealthcare, General Mills, Cargill, and Ameriprise. In addition, Bill has held senior positions at IPG and Omnicom agencies including Bozell, Mithun, Martin/Williams, and BBDO.
Recognized for his leadership, Bill has served as president and global chairman of AMIN, a global network of independent advertising agencies of which Dalton is a member. Committed to giving back, Bill currently serves on the advisory boards of Susan G. Komen Atlanta, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He has a B.A. in marketing and PR from the University of Northern Iowa.
A veteran copywriter with over twenty years of experience, Chris has worked at various respected agencies in New York City and Florida. Over that span, he’s applied his creative acumen on international and national brands such as Canon, The American Heart Association, McDonald's, Fanatics.com, ESPN, CNN, Bermuda Tourism, Sixt Rent a Car, just to name a few.
Chris’ creative work has been recognized by his peers, having won prestigious industry awards such as the ADDYs, Webbys and Hermes awards. Chris also holds an M.F.A. Degree in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and has published poems and written a few screenplays along the way.
Chris lives in historic St. Augustine, Florida with his beautiful wife, two children and rescue dog Italia.
Brendan spearheads brand strategy and planning for existing and new clients, as well as providing clients digital strategy and integrated planning. His role in the rebrand of the American Heart Association is a prime example of his ability to take clients to the next level. Brendan also heads up our research division called D-Lab, moderating and managing primary research projects. Don't let his laid-back attitude fool you. He brings a level of passion for helping his client succeed that is unmatched. Recognized by his peers and the business community, Brendan was recently named in the 2017, “40 Under 40” issue by the Jacksonville Business Journal, honoring the best and brightest rising stars in the Jacksonville business community.
Brendan is a member of Wolfson Children's Hospital Development Council, and is a member of University of North Florida's Executive Advisory Committee to the Communications Department. Brendan holds a Master's Degree in Integrated Marketing from University of Wisconsin.
With over 10 years at Dalton, Brian brings a steady hand, strategic thinking and a lot of good agency stories to the account side of Dalton. Brian is responsible for managing accounts, nurturing client relationships, as well as developing and directing our team of talented account executives in Jacksonville. A strong contributor in strategic planning and marketing-strategy development, Brian's led the charge on a host of current clients, as well as being an integral part of new business efforts. Before coming to Dalton, Brian held senior account management positions at Marco Group Advertising and Morgan and Partners. At Morgan, Brian oversaw many high-end, real estate accounts, including Tahoe Mountain Resorts, V at Las Vegas, and Cinnamon Beach, Florida.
Brian lives in St. Johns County with his wife and their 3 daughters and he knows far more about the Disney princesses than he ever thought he would.
Bill leads a talented team of public relations professionals building strategic communications plans, integrating PR into marketing efforts, managing guerrilla and grassroot marketing campaign and crisis communications.
Over his years with Dalton, Bill also served as VP of McDonald’s Florida markets, which included development and implementation of integrated marketing, advertising and PR plans for 307 McDonald’s locations across Central and Northeast Florida. Bill also spent several years honing his skills for McDonald’s in the Savannah market, building key relationships and leading on a variety of local PR and marketing initiatives for the brand. Bill has also worked with many other PR clients, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Advanced Disposal Systems, Imagine Orthodontics and the Super Bowl Host Committee. Both his team members and clients are drawn to his big personality and strong leadership.
Bill is on the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities and is a member of their Cornerstone Society. He is also a proud member of the University of Florida Alumni Association.
Caleb manages a talented, diverse creative department, overseeing the day-to-day operations and output of the Jacksonville office. Caleb has consistently ideated powerful, engaging campaigns for an eclectic mix of clients including law enforcement and defense industry brands such as Colt, BAE Systems, and Point Blank. (As a Sherriff's office reserve for six years, Caleb can confidently say he understands the target audience).
Not a one-industry-pony, Caleb has successfully developed integrated campaigns for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Space Coast Credit Union, Jacksonville Armada, and Smithfield Foods just to name a few. Before coming to Dalton, Caleb was a designer at Shepherd Marketing and Advertising in Jacksonville.
With his more than 20 years of client relationship and public relations experience, Keith is responsible for leading advertising efforts for a global food company, developing materials reaching internal and external audiences across the globe.
Before Keith came to Dalton, he served as Vice President of Marketing and Operations at CSI Companies, where he directed all marketing, public relations and internal communications activities for the firm’s offices throughout the U.S., while also managing training and support for the firm’s sales and recruiting teams. In his time there, Keith also developed programs and techniques to improve client service.
A former gator, Keith graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations. He is an active board member for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Committee Chair for Bike MS, and a founding board member of For The Bruce Foundation.
Jeremy oversees all of our agency's social media accounts, as well as leading a large team of talented, ever-monitoring, tweeting, and posting social media managers. Jeremy has excelled at tackling large-scale, multifaceted projects and working with clients from a variety of industries. He has developed leading-edge social strategies and campaigns for national brands and regional brands such as McDonald's, Stein Mart, American Heart Association, Merlin Entertainments and Smithfield Foods. As a member of the management team, Jeremy is also a critical contributor and responsible for overall business development, planning and strategy. Previously, Jeremy was VP of Operations, and the founding member of the internet startup Xomba.com. There he did it all, including project management, staffing and business development.
Jeremy is a graduate of University of North Florida.
Ellen brings 25-years experience to Dalton, spearheading integrated marketing efforts for a diverse roster of B2B and B2C clients in the financial, healthcare, and telecom industries from our Atlanta office. A natural motivator and client collaborator, Ellen currently manages cross-functional teams in integrated marketing efforts including digital, social, experiential and traditional advertising. Whether working with a global company like Change Healthcare or New York Life Investments, a regional player like Southern Linc, or shepherding a new start-up, her passion for solving marketing challenges is infectious. Prior to Dalton, Ellen applied her leadership skills managing an array of clients in the financial services, entertainment and non-profit sectors.
Ellen's love of music goes back a long way, having graduated from DePauw University School of Music, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Music Business.
Jo Ann has a distinguished background and a wealth of experience working in finance and accounting. Before coming to Dalton (where she “loves the energy”) in 2005, Jo Ann worked 20 years in the legal profession as a finance manager and legal administrator. Prior to that she even managed to run her own accounting business while raising her two daughters. Today she is an integral part of the Dalton Agency.
Here, Jo Ann is responsible for the business office, from agency financials to budgeting to client invoicing. Jo Ann also works with a team of talented individuals who help oversee human resources and facilities management. Basically, she and her business staff make the agency run smoothly, and she does it with an ever-present smile.
Carly oversees integrated media planning and buying across all offices. Prior to Dalton, Carly crisscrossed the country, having held senior positions at Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago, The Richards Group in Dallas and 22squared in Atlanta. Over her 16-year career, Carly has worked on a variety of different categories and industries, with brands such as Toyota, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Salvation Army, TGI Fridays and Edward Jones. She is an innovative thinker and campaign strategist who has extensive experience with both offline and digital media.
Carly is a South Florida native and currently lives in Ponte Vedra with her husband, two children and their boxer, Olive. She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Florida. She is an avid runner and a terrible cook.
Heather’s significant experience in media relations, corporate communications, crisis communications and public relations allows her to lead Dalton’s communications efforts on behalf of a global food company. She works with a cross-discipline team to develop and execute corporate communications initiatives and social responsibility programs that target both internal and external audiences. Previously, as a senior account executive, Heather prepared and executed strategic communications plans focusing on earned media for local, state-wide, and national private and nonprofit clients across a variety of industries.
Prior to joining the Dalton Agency, Heather served in the Office of the Secretary for the Florida Department of State. In this role, she developed and executed communications campaigns that engaged regional, national and international audiences in the statewide initiative, Viva Florida 500! She also worked as a local television reporter and anchor.
Heather earned her master’s degree in mass communications with a focus on political communications and campaigns from the University of Florida where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications/news. She is a member of Leadership Florida, the Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Women’s Giving Alliance and Florida Blue Key; and was a former Florida Gubernatorial Fellow.
Tony, our Director of Finance, manages all accounting and finance needs for our Nashville office. However, Tony’s responsibilities extend way beyond numbers - Tony also creates and manages budgets, improves production operations, administers company benefits and human resource functions, handles building operations, plans and manages office events and more. Prior to joining the Dalton Agency in 2018 from Anode, Tony spent more than 10 years cultivating his client service experience, specifically Big 4 accounting which allowed him to learn and analyze operations, processes, and financial structure of many commercial clients as well as the film and entertainment industry. Tony’s leadership skills and even-keeled personality make him a true asset to the team.
Tony graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ohio State University. In his off-time, Tony stays active with softball, flag football, basketball, golf, tennis, and his Bernadoodle puppy, Oscar.
With more than 25 years’ experience. Kevin began his writing career in St. Louis and has worked for ad agencies throughout the US. Throughout his career, he has developed powerful, strategic-based ideas and stories in multiple media for: brand direction, traditional and digital realms, live events and video. His deep experience in the healthcare category gives him a true understanding of what every constituency in the category looks for in communications.
Kevin’s corporate client experience includes Bridgestone, Cadillac, Casio America, Custom Plastic Forming, Dollar General, KFC, Publix Super Markets, Ralston Purina, among others.
His healthcare experience includes: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, DigiChart (EMR for OB/Gyn), Florida Cancer Specialists, HCA (Hospital Corporation of America), HMS (hospital information systems), Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Saint Thomas Health (Nashville), UF Health Shands Hospital, St. Clare’s Health Services (New Jersey), Vanderbilt Health Plans, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, among others.
His proudest moment is having his work mentioned in the film “This Is Spinal Tap” by Marty DiBergi. (“You know that commercial where the dog chases the wagon? That’s mine.”) He’s still pissed at Steven Wright that he said “No” to being in one of his campaigns.
Chris brings 25 years of technology experience to Dalton. Chris is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of designers and developers to produce award-winning touchscreen interactive experiences, software applications, and digital and physical content for museums, science centers, libraries, and schools as well as corporate and industrial clients. Chris has produced and managed the production of custom digital and physical experiences, products, and services for clients such Bridgestone Tires, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Nashville Public Libraries and much more.
Chris’s passion for technology can be heard on NPR and TEDx Nashville, where he explains his in-depth knowledge for robots, spaceships, and Greeblies. Chris is also on the Advisory Board for Academies of Nashville, was the Co-Founder of Nashville Maker Faire, and served as Vice President of Board of Directors for Make Nashville Makerspace.
Scott has 22 years of experience in building results-driven strategic communications campaigns for a wide range of clients. In his current role, Scott has led PR efforts for B2B and B2C clients including Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Centers of Innovation, Ingenious Med, CJJ Motorsports and many more. Prior to joining the Dalton family, Scott was partner for Holland & Holland PR, where he notably led international media relations for Piaggio Aero when they launched overseas. Scott also played a pivotal role in managing crisis communications campaigns for New Orleans and Baton Rouge in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, earning him a prestigious PR News Platinum Award.
Born in The Bronx, New York, Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus, where he graduated summa cum laude. Scott lives in Cumming, Georgia, with his wife Debbie and their 20-year-old twins.
Jeff brings 20 years of experience helping businesses and organizations explore new ways to share their story. In his role, Jeff is responsible for new business development, fostering and managing customer and partner relationships, actively leading project management services, and providing conceptual solutions for clients. Jeff helped integrate technology and digital storytelling into physical visitor spaces for Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Vanderbilt University school of Engineering, Mars Petcare, Nashville Public Library, BuzzFeed, ESPN X Games, and Mercedes Benz. Jeff also served as Marketing Manager for thirteen years at PIC USA, Inc., an international animal genetics company where he planned and managed the marketing efforts for both the United States and Canada, including spearheading a product launch that won national top honors.
Jeff earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and his Masters in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University. He served on the Nashville Chapter of the American Marketing Association as an Executive Board Member for more than five years and most recently, Jeff became a founding co-chair of the Nashville Chapter of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
With eleven years’ experience in social media and public relations, Heather has extensive knowledge in social media strategy, planning and content development. She has developed and managed social media presences for clients in the following categories: travel and tourism, nonprofit, automotive, and retail. At the Dalton Agency, Heather leads our Content Creation team and has developed dynamic social media content for clients such McDonald’s, American Heart Association, APR Energy, Susan G. Komen and Visit Jacksonville.
Banks brings almost 20 years of experience working with Fortune 100, mid-size and start-up companies; non-profit organizations; and government agencies. With a unique blend of corporate in-house, agency and government understanding, Banks develops and manages strategic communications and public affairs strategies for Dalton clients, driving growth organically and through business development initiatives. An expert at crafting award-winning, integrated campaigns that strengthen reputation, shape perception and drive business results, Banks specializes in technology and healthcare and brings capabilities in message development and positioning; earned and social media; paid social and digital strategy; content strategy and development; issue advocacy and management; and stakeholder engagement.
A South Carolina native, and Washington, DC local for most of her career, Banks started her career as a staffer in the U.S. Senate.
