McDonald’s Frappe brightens Gamecock rain delay

Last Friday night, the McDonald’s sampling vehicle parked itself right outside the main gate at the Carolina Baseball Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. Diehard baseball fans waiting to enter the USC vs. Florida game were distracted from rain delays with a little help from the Golden Arches.  Fans flocked to the sampling trailer to indulge in Mocha and Caramel Frappé refreshments. The match against the Gators was postponed for an hour, giving McDonald’s a golden opportunity to entertain stranded guests with their Frappé promotion. In just a short time before the stadium gates were finally open to the public, the McDonald’s team produced and distributed over 500 samples.

Ronald McDonald and brought the sellout crowd of 8,242 to their feet when he threw the first pitch of the game.  He was the star of the game, bringing smiles to the young and old.  Although the Gamecocks went on to fall to the Gators to even the series, the McDonald’s Frappé sampling station started the night with a home run!

We hope some scouts were in the audience. Ronald has quite the arm.

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow can come between Ronald and his friends.

A Frappe and a smile – what a great way to start a ballgame!
