When we Daltonites get an idea in our heads, it’s no secret that we do whatever it takes to get it done. This time around, it all started with a prop.
If you’ve been to our office at any point in the past few months, you may have noticed a rather fun piece of office decor – our photo booth. The more observant of you might have even recognized it from a certain TV spot. That’s right, after the Spring Bealls shoot, our Post-production team decided to make Dalton the photo booth’s new home. But there was just one problem: it wasn’t functional. So there the booth sat. Until one day our fearless leader, Mr. Jim Dalton, decided, Wouldn’t it be cool if we actually made it work…
And with that, a team quickly assembled. We wanted to get it up and running in time for the Jacksonville Jazz Festival so that our friends attending our B-side Lounge Jazz party could have a fun photo-strip to take with them.
Within a matter of days, the booth began to take shape. Our resident IT mastermind, Mike Trail, found the software and hardware to make the booth functional. He even rewired a switchboard from an old arcade game to create the start button. Meanwhile, handyman and post-production wiz Mike Hancock took care of all the woodwork. He and the ever-smiling Omar Rodriguez made sure that the seat was recovered and the screen was mounted. They set up a printer within the booth so that photos would be immediately printed out for anyone using it. And finally, we knew if we were going to have a working photo booth in the office, it better be Dalton orange. Wes Bernick with his amazing eye for design did all the graphics for the reskinning of the booth. Not only does the booth now function perfectly, but it looks like it truly belongs at Dalton.
Thanks to everyone who helped out to bring our photo booth to life. It has been such a fun addition to the office. In the future, if you find yourself visiting the Dalton Agency, be sure to step inside and take a few shots. With that, check out a few fun shots from the Jazz Festival below!
