Clear Channel Outdoor installs first digital boards in Jacksonville market

Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. has recently installed some of its new digital billboards in Jacksonville, and today, the company held an event at one of the billboards to introduce the new technology to the media and the public.

As opposed to traditional billboards where artwork must be changed manually, digital boards change automatically every eight seconds, which is the average industry standard. The entire face of the board changes instantaneously. All advertisements are static images. Graphic animation, moving animation, simulated movement, animatronics of objects, videos and flashing movement within the display are strictly prohibited.

A major benefit of the digital boards is their ability to display urgent messages. In many instances, the regularly scheduled advertisements may be preempted when an urgent public message needs to be displayed. The new technology allows Clear Channel Outdoor to partner with various public agencies to provide this valuable service to the public at-large.

The Dalton Agency PR team assisted with the announcement by helping secure news coverage from local media outlets.  And our work for the Jacksonville Jaguars was among the first creative shown on the new boards.  Check out some photos from the event below.
