For over 50 years, Colt has been supplying U.S. troops with the most dependable, accurate and field-tested rifles in the world. The demand became so great that military sales became their sole manufacturing focus. That created a problem when they were ready to go back into other markets. For the past ten years, Colt rifles had been off the civilian and law enforcement market’s radar. Other less-than quality rifles had come into those markets and taken over.
But Colt is still Colt. We saw the opportunity to reintroduce Colt back into the market by letting law enforcement, hunters and shooting enthusiasts know that Colt’s rifles are the only rifles available that are manufactured in the Colt factory and based on the same rigorous military standards and specifications as the United States issue Colt M16 rifle and M4.

The Dalton Agency launched this campaign effort through trade publications, public relations, a powerful brand video, a redesign of the Colt website, trade show graphics and, a first for Colt, a social media initiative. Colt’s Facebook page went from 0 to over 51,000 followers in less than two months. And it’s still growing. We’re reaching out and tapping into the shared passion that a brand like Colt has with its fans and the active and retired military personnel who learned to depend on its quality and precision.
